If you run a shop, boutique or online store in Pakistan, dupattas and stoles are some of the easiest items to sell all year. They suit every budget, they take little shelf space, and customers come back for new designs. This guide explains what to look for when you buy dupattas and stoles wholesale, so your first order sells well.
1. Start with the fabric your customers ask for
Look at what your own customers buy before you choose stock. Chiffon dupattas with embroidery are popular for events and weddings. Lawn and cotton-feel stoles sell for daily wear, especially in warm months. Viscose and jacquard stoles suit customers who want something lightweight but dressy. Plain stoles in many shades are a steady seller because they match everything.
2. Check the embroidery and border
On embroidered dupattas, the border does most of the selling. Open the dupatta fully and check that the thread work is even, the sequins or lace are firmly stitched, and the edges are finished cleanly. Styles such as Chikankari and Multani embroidery attract repeat buyers, and cutwork and crown-lace borders stand out on the shelf.
3. Understand pack sizes and minimum order
Most wholesale suppliers sell dupattas and stoles by the dozen. At Rayyan Hijab Store the minimum order is 1 dozen (12 pieces) per design. A dozen of one design gives you enough stock for a display and for repeat customers, and it keeps your cost per piece low. If you are starting out, order a few different designs rather than many of one.
4. Look at the design code, not just the photo
Every design should have a code, for example #538 or #681 followed by a design number. The code is how you reorder the exact same design later and how you tell your supplier which piece you mean. Always note the code when you place an order.
5. Ask what is in stock before you travel or pay
Stock changes daily. Message the shop on WhatsApp first to confirm the designs you want are available. This saves you a wasted trip to the market and avoids paying for a design that has sold out.
6. Plan delivery and payment
If you are outside Karachi, ask how the order will be sent and how long it takes. We send orders to every city in Pakistan by courier. Payment is cash before delivery, or in full when you collect from the shop.
7. Buy a little ahead of the season
Shoppers look for dupattas before weddings, Eid and Ramadan. Order a few weeks early so your stock arrives before the rush, and so you can photograph it for your page.
